15 July, 2018 Episode 1 (UK Original Air Date 3 July 2007)

Phil is putting up a banner outside the Vic. He asks Peggy if it looks alright and mentions he doesn’t understand why she doesn’t want cigarettes in the bar. She says that they only have to nip outside. Phil reminds her that they’ll have to nip out in the rain, etc. She scoffs. Pat walks up and has a bit of a jab at Peggy.

Bradley, Dot, and Jim are in the kitchen. Jim asks him if he’s alright? Jim tells Bradley that she’ll come around. Dot says to give her time. Bradley thinks something is holding her back. Dot tries to help, and Bradley tells her that Stacey thinks she won’t fit in. Bradley comes up with an idea to bring Paris to Stacey.

Heather is out in the square trying to get signatures for the scouts. Shirley walks up and teases Heather. Inside the café, Preeti shows off an outfit to Carly and they have a chat. Preeti invites Carly out with her and Chelsea. Chelsea tells her no that Carly needs to stay local with her mates. Chelsea tries to wind Carly up, and Sean walks in. Preeti starts to apologize, but Carly tells her not to worry about it. Sean flirts with Carly, but she turns him down.

Jane asks Pat to cover for her and Ian in the café. At first Pat declines but when Jane says it’s important Pat changes her mind.

Back at the café Bradley finds Stacey and persuades her to help him cook dinner for his boss. She declines at first, but he convinces her in the end to help him.

 

Stella is cleaning up her mess in Bens room. She hides the bag in the laundry bin. She opens the door, and Phil startles her. He asks if she’s missing him. She says she’s not missing his washing, but yes, she is missing him. She turns back around and closes the door in Ben’s room.

Bradley speaks with his boss and invites them to dinner. He tells him that he needs a bit of help convincing her that she fits in with his city mates.  He then chats up Stacey about what they’ll make for dinner. She tells him she’s making a trifle.

Peggy walks into the launderette and spies Pat holding a frilly thong. She turns around but misses Pat handing it back to the young woman next to her.

Inside the café Jane lets Ian know Pat said she would see what she could do. Ian grabs a piece of cake, and gives it to Heather and says it’s on the house. Jane gives him a look, and Ian says it’s just to encourage a bit of business. Jane looks hurt.

Peggy is handing out her flyers to Bert. She tells him that there is a special for special friends. Bert asks her what she wants him for. She says she thought he was both.

Stacey and Bradley are working in the kitchen and he is playing double OO7 and turns on the mixer and covers her with whipping cream. He helps her clean up, and they share a romantic kiss. She goes upstairs to get one of his shirts to change in to.

Ian is carrying a bunch of bags into the house and Pat bumps into him and spies what is in one of his bags.

Bradley and Stacey share another tender moment before she carries over her trifle to her house.

Peggy is telling Shirley about Pat’s thong. They have a good laugh about it. Phil is on the phone with Grant. Grant can’t make the wedding. Phil tells him it’s alright, it’s not like it’s his first one anyway. He laughs and then tells Grant if it doesn’t work then he at least knows the number of a good solicitor. Stella overhears it all as Phil continues to laugh on the phone with Grant.

Bradley is setting the table then springs it on Stacey that it’s his boss and wife and the two of them. Stacey says no, she’s done her part. She refuses to come. Bradley begs her to do this for him.

Jane is in the café when cheeky little Jay comes in and makes a joke at Heather’s expense. Jane apologizes and she and Heather officially meet.

Back in the pub, Bert orders two bottles of brown ale. He tells her to leave the caps on 3 of them. It’s the Buy one get one free deal at the pub night. The pub is packed.

Jane and Heather are chatting in the café.  Heather realizes she’s failed to get sponsors. Janes offers up 50 quid to help. They chat a bit more and Jane invites her to come for a drink sometime. Heather seems shocked that she would want to.

Bradley welcomes his boss and Cheryl in. At first, it appears that Stacey isn’t there. Stacey walks out looking amazing. Bradley asks Mr. Andrews to help him convince Stacey about Paris.

Over in the pub, the buy one get one deal is over and Minty is put off. Bert packs up his three brown ales and says he’s off. Peggy wants to know where he’s going. He tells her he has to go home to check on Jay. She scoffs. Phil is stocking the bar and Stella tells him that they could go tomorrow to go over some of the wedding stuff. Phil says no, he’s got a full day on.

Peggy is following Bert out and yells at him. She overhears two men walking by who mention “Pat Evans over at the bookies.” She goes off following them.

Ian comes back into the café. Jane asks him if he’s gotten everything. He says yes. Jane covers up some papers with her dishes. Heather leaves, and thanks her for the sponsorship and cake. Ian says it’s no problem. He turns to Jane and jokingly says he hopes it’s not for a pie eating contest. He makes another joke about Jane eating the cake and slaps her behind and tells her to be careful or she’ll start packing on the pounds. Jane tells him not to touch her.

Cheryl, Bradley, Mr. Andrews, and Stacey are enjoying a meal and a chat. The conversation moves to how The Andrews lived in Paris. Cheryl tells Stacey it was the best thing that ever happened to them. They toast to Paris.

Ian asks Jane what he did wrong. She tells him that if he doesn’t know, then she won’t tell him. She tells him that tomorrow is off. He is confused. She tells him that she won’t marry him tomorrow.

Cheryl and Stacey are in the kitchen. They chat about how Paris and how it was the best thing that happened to them as it gave them a fresh start. Cheryl asks Stacey where that famed dessert is. Mo is seen opening the refrigerator and about to grab the trifle out when the phone rings.

Ian wants to know what he’s done wrong. He tells Jane everything is booked up for tomorrow. How can he make it better? Jane tells him that he can’t. She tells him she can’t marry him now. He’s like all the rest. Ian calls after her.

Stacey comes in to get the trifle. She finds Mo has eaten it all. Stacey is angry.

Peggy is out sweeping when she sees Pat and Bert. Peggy is angry.

Stacey comes in and is holding four ice cream cones and says that there was a problem with the trifle. Cheryl declares that is perfect as she hates custard. Bradley suggests they all go out for a drink. They all agree.

Pat is in the pub ordering chips and stouts. Peggy wants to know if she’s having a party. Pat says no, just picking it up for Kevin. Pat says it’s slow and Peggy says she should have been in earlier. Peggy asks her if she’s seen, Bert. Pat says she can’t recall that she has. Peggy gives Pat her total and Pat is shocked. Peggy reminds her that she’s drinking off the premises. Peggy goes round the corner and tells Phil that Pat is up to no good, she’s all dolled up and nowhere to go.

Preeti and Chelsea walk into the pub. Carly tells Preeti that she looks lovely. Chelsea calls Preeti over to her. Sean asks what they would like. Chelsea tells him his head on a stick. He makes a comeback at her but she tells him just to pour like he gets paid to do.

Stacey and Cheryl are chatting in the pub. They toast to Paris. Mr. Andrews asks Bradley if Stacey is coming around.  Chelsea walks over to Carly and teases her about waiting around for her man. Carley tells her she doesn’t have one. Chelsea says “oh that’s right, he has you, dangling.” Carly and Chelsea continue to dig at each other. Sean walks over and tells Chelsea she’s scratching the bar. She says “what?” He says your claws are out, put them away! She storms off and Carly smiles.

Outside Peggy is watching the bookies as two guys come out and Patrick walks up, does a special knock and Pat opens the door. He goes to come in and she reminds Patrick he forgets something. He takes off his hat and pays her some money. They go back in. Peggy scoffs and says “Pat you dirty cow!”

Back at the pub Bradley, Stacy, Cheryl and Mr. Andrews continue to chat. Stacey says she enjoyed herself tonight. Cheryl says she seems surprised. Stacey says she wasn’t so sure they’d be so easy to get on with. Cheryl tells Stacey she’s an east end girl herself, and you’ve got to grab your chances. Mr. Andrews says to Bradley that his idea turned out great. Bradley says what? Mr. Andrews says “canceling the restaurant and having dinner in at his place.” Bradley squirms.

Sean is pleased to see Carly is still there, although he gives her a hard time at first.

Stella is on the phone on Ben’s bed and says “I disgust your father. I might as well go ahead and throw myself out the window. Gone. No one cares apart from you. No one would miss me.” She sits the phone down.

Bradley is running after Stacey. Bradley is trying to explain to Stacey why he lied. He says he wanted her to see that she would fit in. They continue to argue about her going to Paris.

Pat walks in and surprises Ian with a wedding gift. He tells her that he hopes she has a receipt. He tells Pat for the first time in his life he doesn’t know why he’s been dumped. He picks up the wedding paper and notices the name is Leslie, not Jane. He’s confused.

Bradley walks in and Dot and Jim want to know how the evening went. Bradley slams by. Dot asks him to sit down. He says “I love her Grandma,” Dot tells him that there is something he doesn’t think he’s thought about. She eludes to the abortion and how it’s left scars on Stacey and trust issues. Dot and Bradley talk about why he didn’t stop her. She tells him that he was just as scared as she was. She tells Bradley what Stacey needs is to trust him here before she can leave with him to go off anywhere else.  Dot and Jim are listening in as Bradley is practicing
