Ronnie is getting dressed to sneak out of Jack’s flat. He wakes up and asks if she’s getting him breakfast. He says, “It was a mistake, right? We shouldn’t have done it?” Ronnie says it’s something like that. Jack asks Ronnie what if he wants to do it again? She tells him not to bet on it. She walks out, and Max greets her. He comments, “so he got you in the end? Just like you said, he would. Thought you were smarter than that. Still, what do I know?” Ronnie tells him not a lot. Max says that she’s either leaving because he’s tossed her out or she’s already regretting it. Ronnie tells him the last thing she needs is advice from the man who slept with his son’s teenage fiance. Max tells her he’s everything Tanya said he was. Ronnie tells him this newly found self-awareness does that mean he’s never going to cheat on her again? Max agrees he’s bad, but he wonders when she’ll realize that Jack is even worse? Ronnie says, “That’s nice, isn’t it? You were so grateful for him helping you out and putting a roof over your head?” Max says he’s just storing up credit, isn’t it? He’s made sure that everyone knows he disapproves, but he’s taken me in any way? Because we’re family. It’s that great East End myth we’re all peddled. Bunch of hypocrites. Ronnie asks him if that is what he’d say to Tanya if she wanted to take him back. She agrees everyone is a bunch of hypocrites. But it’s what you do about it that makes the difference. Ronnie walks back into the bedroom and shuts the door. She tells Jack she forgot something. Jack wonders what it is? She gets back in bed.

Billy tells her that cousins can still do it! Roxy says ewww is that what you think about? That is disgusting! Honey comes in and asks what is going on? Roxy says she’s just looking for Albert. Honey tells her he is in the kitchen drinking water. Roxy hurries out. Honey says that Roxy is just lovely. She tells Billy how much she loves being there all one big happy family.

Peter reads the letter and tells his Dad that he shouldn’t be opening his post. Lucy tells Ian that it came a few days ago, and Peter hid it because he doesn’t want to try out. All Peter wants to do is hang out with his mates and Lauren. Peter runs out. Lucy tells Jane that 50 quid should cover her make-up loss through the weekend. Jane tells her that since it was Bobby who ruined it, then she can ask him for the money. Bobby smiles up at Lucy.

He wonders which one Peter wishes to be. Peter smiles and then tells his Dad it is too late. Ian tells him they’ll get into hyper-focus with exercise and diet. Today is day one Ian tells Peter. Peter reminds him that he’s going to the school disco with Lauren. Ian tells him he’s not going anymore. Peter protest.

Tanya turns it off and Abi protest that it wasn’t ten seconds! Tanya tells her it’s time for school. Rainie is going with them as she hasn’t seen their school yet. She offers to pick up dinner as well. Lauren tells Rainie that their school is pretty rank. Rainie tells her it’s probably nothing compared to the one she and their mum went to. Tanya sends them off and as they are leaving Tanya thanks Rainie for her help. Tanya goes upstairs and goes through Rainie’s bag. She doesn’t find anything, and the doorbell rings. She is greeted by Derrick Evans, Social Services who wants to speak with her about her sister Lorraine.
Jack is making breakfast when Ronnie walks in wearing his shirt. Jack tells her she’s supposed to be in bed as it’s meant to be a surprise. Ronnie tells him she slept, alright. He tells Ronnie that it’s her turn next time, that is assuming there will be a next time because they are business partners and must respect each other’s boundaries. They begin to make out when she stops him as they have an audience. A snoring Max lies on the sofa sleeping. She tells him to slow down. She wonders if Max will say anything? Jack tells her she needs to tell her family. Because he will be happy to tell anyone who asks him. She asks him to have a little respect and just tell them to ask Ronnie. She tells him she will when she’s ready. Her family her rules. He has one question for her then. How does she like her eggs? Scrambled or fried? Ronnie tells him poached. They laugh.
The baby is crying. Phil and Roxy are trying to eat breakfast when Billy brings a dirty nappy in. Billy asks Phil for a tenner. Honey calls out that they only have two nappies left. Phil says he better make it a twenty. Phil says better yet, Roxy can go get the nappies, and he can go down to the council to sort out housing. Billy says he’s called twice a day every day and nothing. Phil suggests he go squat in their offices until he gets results. Billy whinges about how everyone must feel that same way, except Peggy who told them they could stay as long as they needed. Roxy says he doesn’t have naughty dreams about Peggy though does he? Billy says he does not have raunchy dreams about her, just nice ones. He says, “oh, what’s the point!” and grabs the money and leaves.
Darren is dressed in a nice suit. Libby comments on how nice it is, and he tells her if you want big results, you have to dress the part. He says he’s getting in new stock when Pat sorts out the paperwork. He spots Rainie and yells out “Hey darlin’ you don’t have to walk to the shops. You could be riding and put all that in the boot! The price goes down when you smile.” Rainie smiles. Libby points out with patter like that he’ll be in the business. Darren reminds her that she is his girl, and that is just business.
Rainie enters the house and calls out for Tanya. She calls out that she got mince and figures she will make shepherds pie. Tanya looks at Derreck and says, “does that sound like a druggie to you?” Rainie comes in, and Tanya introduces her. Tanya tells Rainie that Max has said she leaves her syringes everywhere and invites the girls to shoot up with her. Max is just trying to make trouble for the divorce proceedings. Rainie tells Derrick she is off the smack and has been clean for months. She offers to let him search her room, and test her and talk to her counselor. Tanya asks if he honestly thinks she would let her around her kids if she was still using? Oscar starts crying, and she says she has to go take care of him. Derrick says he will still have to talk to Lorraine though.
Roxy calls Ronnie and wonders where she is. She’s just been to her room, and it wasn’t slept in. Ronnie tells her she got drunk and fell asleep at the club, but she’s coming home now. Roxy, who is watching Ronnie leave Jack’s asks if it was a good night then since Jack isn’t the lightest person to lie under is he? Ronnie looks up and sees Roxy. Roxy gives her a wave. She turns around, and Phil and Peggy are standing behind her with scowls on their face.

Ian tells him to do what managers do, delegate! He tells him to get Jane to cover the chippy. Ian is determined to teach his sons their potential. He tells Steven just to be glad he’s starting with Peter.
Ronnie is defending herself against Roxy, Phil, and Peggy. They are angry she’s involved with Jack. She tells them who she sleeps with is none of their business and has nothing to do with any of them. They ask her why she’s lied about it then. She tells them it’s because of this right here. She says they assume she’s hooked up with Jack the Ripper. Peggy says he’s trouble. Roxy points out how he helped with Louise. Ronnie says he did help, he’s bent over backward to help, and all he’s gotten is punched in the face for it. Roxy asks if she’s going to keep seeing him then? Ronnie says it’s too right she is. Peggy says they don’t trust him. Ronnie tells them all it would be nice if they trusted her; after all, she is family.
Ian is taking the stock off the store, and he docks the kids’ wages for the bad food on the stall. The kid quits. Billy says it looks like he needs a new barrow boy. Ian says previous employees need not apply. Billy says he’s skint, and everyone living in Peggy’s front room is doing his head in. Ian wonders why he would want to bring an end to that? Pat walks up behind him and says, “because you are a decent human being? You certainly used to be. Listen to yourself two kids in nappies, and he’s homeless, and you are laughing at him. Is that how Pete and Kathy brought you up? What would your Uncle Arthur say? I thought that is why you bought this stall? Or was it just for the wood? This stall used to mean something, and so did the people who worked on it! All that heritage? Just a bit of nostalgia from the past?!” Ian gives Billy his job back. Ian looks at Pat and asks her what she’s going to do for them or is he the only good samaritan on the square? She tells him she already has. She looks at Billy and tells him he can move his family in with her. She told Honey earlier. They can stay as long as they want. She’ll be happy to have them, and they’ll have a live-in babysitter. Pat tells him they can move in whenever they like. Billy says he has to go tell Honey. Ian stops him and tells him he can tell her on his own time and not while he’s working for him. Billy pushes for a raise, but Ian won’t budge. Billy is well chuffed at good luck.
Peggy is whispering to Phil and Roxy that Ronnie would like to invite Jack over for a drink. She says they will all make an effort to get along. Roxy says that Ronnie does like him. Peggy says she feels better than Ronnie is with him rather than Roxy. Ronnie is sharp no matter how much she falls for him; she’ll keep her wits about her. Phil asks Ronnie what time Jack is coming over for drinks.
Tanya is having a go at Max for calling social services. He tells her that he doesn’t want a drug addict around his kids. She tells him ex-addict. Max tells her that there is no such thing. Once an addict always an addict, she knows it, and so does his lawyer. He points out it’s just like Tanya and the booze. She points out that he’s the one with the drink in his hand. He tells her not to get so drunk that the profits start to drop because once he gets the kids, he’ll have to start paying him maintenance. He tells her to go on and slap him. He yells out loud for others to hear: Better than you take it out on the kids. Tanya leaves frustrated, and Max finishes his drink.
Darren signs the paperwork to run the car lot. He asks Pat where the checkbook is then? She reminds him it will be with her until he’s 18! Darren tells her he’s ready to start turning motors. She reminds him that this is not a quick end game, and that is what got Kevin into trouble. She reminds him to think of this as a marathon, not a sprint. She yells at him and asks if he’s listening to her. She tells him not to spend his commissions before he’s earned them. She doesn’t want to see a Lamborghini out there or another sharp suit. He tells her she is going to be proud of him. Pat tells him that she already is. She knows he’ll do the right thing.
Peter is working out, and Ian is pushing him hard. Ian scolds him and tells him he’s not working hard enough. Peter yells he can’t. Ian tells him he won’t hear that word again. He orders him down there and to beat his last time. Ian is harsh, and even Steven questions him.
Darren stops by the arches, and only Phil is in. He asks about Garry and Minty and tells Phil it’s official that he’s in charge of the car lot now. Phil says that is Pat’s decision. He tells him that Pat wanted him to run it by Phil just to make sure he’s happy. Darren tells him he doesn’t have a lot of cash flow or cars. He’s hoping that Phil can help him get things moving. He asks him to get him some of those dodgy motors just to get him started. Phil tells him no and looks what happened with them? Kevin died. Darren pushes Phil for the cars or the guy’s number. Phil isn’t having it and tells him the lot is legit from now on. Darren continues to push, and Phil tells him if he asks him one more time he will have Pat chuck him out and he’ll knock him out of that suit. No more stolen cars, no more cut and shuts. No more! Phil tells him to sling his hook and to get out.
Lucy shows Jane her essay. Jane points it out to Ian that she’s made an A. Lucy boast that her teacher says it is the best essay she’s read all school year. Peter and Lauren come in, and he says it’s only January 10th! Lucy tells him the teacher meant for the whole school year. Lucy says that she has to be worth some new make-up. Ian spots Peter eating some crisps and gets up and takes them out of his hand. He says it’s not on the approved list of foods. He rudely asks Lauren what she’s doing there. Lauren tells Ian they are meant to do their homework together. Ian says they aren’t, and Peter is going to the gym to work out on the treadmill. Peter tries to get out of it by saying he’s got blisters from his shoes. Ian just deflects and says they will stop to get some new trainers on the way to the gym. He tells Lauren he wants a word with her. Lucy tears up her paper.
Billy and Honey are chatting. Honey thinks it will be letting everyone down if they moved to Pat’s. Billy doesn’t see it that way. She tells him to come with her. In the kitchen, Phil, Peggy, and Roxy are pleased with Pat’s offer. Billy and Honey come in, and Peggy says they’ve heard about Pat’s offer. Phil offers to give them a hand moving tonight. Honey says they’ll be no need as they aren’t moving since they all love them being there with them. Peggy nervously agrees and says of course they do. Phil says they would understand. Roxy says they don’t want to stand in their way of more room. Honey says they want to be there with them too and they love it there with them. They’ve really made them feel special and Honey thanks them. Billy follows Honey. Roxy and Phil look at Peggy! She asks them what else she was supposed to say? Honey and Billy go to break the news to Pat.
Lauren is telling Rainie and Tanya about Ian’s plans for Peter. Rainie shows Lauren how to fake an injury. Tanya sends Lauren off to do her homework. Rainie says that they make a good team. She was worried when the social worker came by. But she’s glad it all worked out. Tanya tells her it would be really good if she could take another drug test so she can send it to Max’s lawyer. Rainie protest and says she’s had one done recently. Tanya says that was before she was living with her. This way, Rainie could show them she’s clean still. Rainie looks worried.
Jack shows up late. He asks Ronnie what he missed. She tells him not to make her regret this. Jack starts with an apology to Phil and explains that despite how it worked out, but he really was trying to help. Ronnie says they should have that drink now. Jack stops her and says this isn’t about having a drink and pretending to make nice for a half hour. It’s about starting over properly. He knows he has to prove himself to them, and he hopes they will give him a chance. Phil says, ok. Roxy says whatever. Peggy says it’s going to take more than words. He thanks them and heads out. He tells Ronnie he’s going to set up the club and she should stay there and talk him up a bit. He needs it. She walks back over to them and tells them he meant it and what he said is true, and they’ve got to trust him on that.
Jack opens up the club and meets up with Darren. Darren follows him into the club. Jack compliments him on his suit. Jack asks him if he’s got it then. Darren pulls out a recorder and plays a bit of it. He says this is Phil Mitchell in his own words, stitched up and ready for jail. Jack takes the recording and smiles.
