Max and Tanya are at a restaurant waiting on Harriet. Max tells Tanya that she is there. He tells Tanya she’s doing the right thing. She says, “yeah.” in a weak voice.
Sean pulls up to the address Tanya gave him in a van.
Ian looks at his missing poster of Lucy as people from the square look at him. He looks at Stacey, but they say nothing.
Harriet asks if they have come to an agreement? Max replies that they have as Tanya nods. Harriet pulls out the paperwork and tells them where to sign. Max starts signing and says that it feels like getting married all over again. Tanya says, “yeah till death, we do part.”
Sean goes in, and the man asks him, “cash was it? Got your own transport?” Sean replies, yes. The man opens the door, and Sean sees a coffin. The man tells Sean he can back up to the door in the yard.
Ian walks into the kitchen and asks Jane if there is any news? She tells him nothing yet. Ian trips over Bobby and Oscar. He asks Jane what Oscar is doing there? Jane says, “I told you I was babysitting today. He is my Godson.” Jane tells him to sit down, and she will make a cup of tea. If there is any news, they will call him. Bobby plays with his car around Ian’s legs. Ian is cross with Bobby and tells him to stop, or he will bin the car. Bobby continues, and Ian takes the car away. Jane cautions Ian as Bobby is only four years old. Ian says no, what he is, is selfish! His sister is out there God knows where and all he can worry about is running a car up and down my leg. Bobby reaches for the car, and Ian yells NO. Jane tells Ian, “why don’t you raise your hand to him just like you did, Lucy!” Ian stops as Peter walks in and asks, “what about Lucy?” Jane takes Bobby to the park to get him out for a bit. Peter glares at his Dad.
Max tells Tanya to cheer up its all over now. They pass by Stacey on her stall as they drive back into the square. Tanya tells Max she is just a bit tired. He tells her it’s all this stress, but it’s all over now. He tells Tanya that is why he is taking her out for a fancy meal tonight. Tanya snaps at him that she told him she was going to cook. He tells her well you aren’t now as it’s all sorted. She says, “what just like that? Without even consulting me? I have all the ingredients for a meal and a nice bottle of wine.” Max tells her he doesn’t want her slaving over the stove. Tanya tells him that he can’t just buy a girl a fancy meal and a good bottle of wine and call it all done and dusted. She tells him that they have to feel their way back into it, into being a couple. He tells Tanya he thought they were a couple. Tanya tells him all she needs is to cook a meal for her husband and have a night in for it to be special. Max relents and gives in to staying home. Tanya fights back the tears. They get out, and Max takes out bags. She asks him what they are. Max tells her it’s Easter eggs for Sunday. He tells her they could go to town this year, hiding them all around the square and spoiling the kids with chocolates. Tanya has a twinge of remorse and guilt on her face, but Max does not see it. Stacey walks across the square and looks at Tanya, but Tanya turns and heads inside.
Tanya tells the girls to get their things ready as Bradley will be there soon to take them ice skating. Abi tells them that she can’t find her gloves. Max wonders why she needs them? Abi reminds him that the ice is cold. She doesn’t want her fingers to freeze off. Tanya tells Abi she will get her some, and they both need to wear two pairs of socks, so they don’t catch a cold. Lauren tells her mum that she already has a cold. Abi notices the bags and wonders what is in them. Max tells her nothing. Abi says she bets it is Easter eggs! Can I have one now, she asks? Max tells her that she can wait until Sunday. He pulls out two eggs and tosses them at the girls.
Tanya is upstairs in the bedroom. She pulls out tablets and puts them in a tissue. Her phone rings, and it’s Sean. He tells her that he picked up her item. She says good. Sean wonders what she has planned. She simply tells him just desserts. She tells him to be there at 8:00 o’clock and not to be late. He tells her he loves her, but she’s already hung up. Sean gets up and sees Stacey standing there.
Christian tells Jane she looks awful. Jane replies that she has hardly slept. Christian tells her no he means her clothes! Hasn’t she got a mirror? She tells him, “yeah, but I’m not in the mood for your jokes.” He half apologizes. Jane tells him that the tension inside that house is so thick you can cut it with a knife. She goes on to tell him that Ian is so stressed that she thought he was going to hit Bobby. Bobby says he wants to go see Nana Pat. Jane explains to him that Nana Pat is not there so he can’t go see her. Christian asks if she needs a babysitter? Christian asks Bobby how he feels about a spin around the playground. Bobby jumps up and down in excitement. Christian looks at Jane and says he’s keen. She thanks him. He takes Bobby off.
Stacey asks Sean if he’s just going to carry on with Tanya behind Max’s back? Sean tells her he loves her. Stacey points out that it is not love. Sean says she is going to leave him and take the kids. He tells her that they are going to go away. Stacey says, so that’s it then? Why sneak around then? Why not just tell him and get everything out in the open? Sean says because Max deserves everything he gets! Stacey wants to know what that means? Sean picks up the keys. Stacey asks him where he got a car as he doesn’t own one? Sean tells her he knows she is his sister, but he’s telling her to keep her nose out of it. Stacey calls after him.
Tanya has a full meal preparing. She crushes the pills and pours it into the bottle of wine and shakes it up. Max comes in, and she hides the paper. He walks over and hugs her from behind. He notices the wine bottle and tells her it’s a nice drop. She replies that it’s only the best for him. He keeps kissing her. She half pushes him off, asking him to light the candles. The doorbell rings, and Abi is excited. Tanya tells him to stay out as late as they want. Go get burgers and ice creams! Lauren tells Tanya she doesn’t feel very well. Tanya says no, you’ll be fine! The exercise will do you good, won’t it, Bradley? Bradley replies that if she doesn’t feel well? Max says that if Lauren doesn’t feel well, she shouldn’t go. Tanya tells them not to be silly as she only has the sniffles. Lauren says, “mom, I’ve got the flu.” Tanya rushes them out. Abi tells her Dad to have a nice meal and gives him a hug. Tanya says she’s going to check on dinner. Max hugs the girls. Abi says she’s going to bring her Dad back something for Easter. Lauren tells her that he doesn’t like chocolates. Abi says she knows. She will bring him back, Sherbert Lemons. Max squeezes them both and says they are his favorite. Bradley tells them to come along. Bradley tells them the last one on the bus holds his hands on the ice. Abi sweetly says that she will hold his hand. Max thanks Bradley for taking the girls. He informs him that the divorce is off. They met with the solicitor, and they signed the papers. Max asks Bradley to give him a chance just to chat over a drink. Bradley simply looks at him and says he’s got to go. Max walks back to the kitchen. Tanya is standing there, steadying herself. He says, “well, it’s just the two of us.” They toast, and Max takes a nice big drink of his wine.
Jane comes home. Ian wonders where Bobby is? Jane tells him that he is at Christian’s. Ian explains that when he hit Lucy, it was a mistake. She hit him, and he slapped her. She tells him she knows. He asks her if she really believes him, or does she think he’s done something worse? Max continues to drink wine. Tanya sips her wine. They cheer again, and Max takes a nice long gulp of his wine. Tanya just watches him. He tells her it’s good. She asks if he likes the lamb? He tells her yes, it’s gorgeous. He says he would have preferred to have gone out. She tells him that she prefers it here. He asks why she isn’t drinking her wine. She tells him she is. He points out she’s hardly touched a drop. She explains she has a bit of a headache. He says they can be teetotal together. She tells him she will have a drink in a minute. She says you’re happy I’m happy. Max tells her he doesn’t believe her. He tells her she keeps saying the right things, but he doesn’t believe she means it. She tells him he’s just paranoid. He says, “alright one minute you hate me, want to take my kids away and are dragging me through the courts. The next, the door is open, and I’m back here, and I’m in your bed.” She tells him it’s not quite that simple. He says he doesn’t think she is honest about what she feels. He asks her, “are you?” She says, yeah, will you just have another drink? He reaches across the table and grabs her arm, and asks are you? She says, “yes, God, what do you want from me?” Max looks at her and says, “the truth.”
Ian yells at Jane that he can’t believe she thinks he would hurt his own daughter! Jane says, “I didn’t say that.” He says she may as well have. She tells Ian that he needs to get some sleep as he is out of control. He grabs her wrist. Jane looks at him and asks if he is going to hit her now? Because she hits back. The phone rings, and she goes to answer it. She replies to the caller, “yes, erm, yes.” She comes into the kitchen, closes the door, and tells him it’s the police. Ian asks if they can tell him now? He says that he wants to know. He says right, yeah, he’ll come there. He tells them he will come now. He starts to cry and says they found a body.
Tanya yells at Max, “We met with the solicitor, I signed the document, what more do you want?” Max tells her he wants her! He explains to Tanya that he doesn’t feel like she’s there. He tells her if she wants to take it slow, he will, she just needs to tell him. Tanya keeps looking at the clock. She turns around to face Max. He begs her to tell him what is wrong. Tanya angrily replies that there is nothing wrong. Max tells her that all he wants to do is to make it up to her, to be with her. He tells her that all he wants is for it to e her choice. Tanya screams back at him, “my choice? You have given me no choice at all!” Max stands up and is a bit dizzy. He asks her if she is still seeing Sean? She tells him no, but avoids looking at him. He tells her to go on and tell him. Was it a one-off? A fling? He begs her to tell him as he forgives her. She laughs and says he forgives her! He tells her it’s doing his head in! He just wants her to tell him what she wants! Tanya turns to face him again and says, “What I want? She asks him if he would die?” He asks her what the hell that means? He asks her to get him a glass of water. He tells her he feels a bit sick as he falls around the kitchen. She stands there. He says he wants her to call the doctor. He wonders what is happening to him. She whispers in his ear, “you’ve been drugged.” Max falls down. Tanya empties the wine bottle and rinses it out. She dumps the wine glasses and cuts her finger as she breaks a glass. She calls Sean and asks him where he is.
Jane and Ian tell Steven to stay there and look after the kids. They wonder what has happened. Jane and Ian don’t say anything, but it’s written on their faces.
Bradley and the girls are back early. The girls bicker about how Lauren got hurt. Lauren tells Abi she can’t actually walk. Bradley says he will carry Lauren like a princess. Abi remarks at how strong Bradley is. Bradley says that Tanya is going to kill him.
Sean comes in and asks Tanya how much she gave Max? She tells him enough. She asks him where the van is. He tells her outback. He tells Tanya that they need to get out of there now. She trips over Max and screams. SEan yells at her to get the door. They take Max out of the back door. At the front door are Bradley, Lauren, and Abi. Abi turns to Bradley and tells him he is her hero. She gets her keys out.
Jane and Ian are heading to the police station. Jane warns him that he doesn’t know that it is Lucy. He tells her that is why the police called. They drive off.
Abi runs in, shouting. They’ll never believe what’s happened! She calls out for her mum. Bradley tells Lauren that the pain will probably diminish once the swelling goes down a bit. Abi observes the scene in the kitchen. She looks worried.
Tanya and Sean put Max into the back of the van. Sean says that someone should go in the back with him. Tanya says no. Sean wonders what happens if he wakes up? Tanya tells him just to drive.
Ian pulls over and gets sick. He tells Jane it’s all his fault. She tells him it’s not. He swears he didn’t do anything else but hit her. He didn’t do anything else. Jane tells him that everything is going to be alright.
Bradley tries to explain the situation they’ve found. Abi doesn’t agree with him. Bradley thinks they should all pile in the living room and watch a DVD. Abi asks if she can select the DVD? Bradley doesn’t have a chance to answer when she thanks him for letting her choose. Lauren says, “great.”
Tanya and Sean arrive at the woods. They both look a bit nervous. Tanya asks where it is? He tells her it’s just over there past the trees. He tells her to come on and hands her a shovel.
The inspector comes out for Ian and Jane. She tells them to sit as she needs to prepare them.
The bell rings at Tanya and Max’s. Bradley thinks it is Max and Tanya. He answers, and it’s Steven with Oscar. He asks if Tanya is in?
Sean drags Max to the spot. HE asks Tanya to give him a hand. He tells Tanya they need to do this. Tanya tells him, yeah; they just need to do this. They just need to do this, and she will be free. Sean kisses her. She says he deserves it. Max has brought this on himself. They put Max in the box. Tanya trips and falls in on top of him. She screams and begs Sean to get her out. She tells Sean just to fill it in! Sean wonders how long until Max wakes up? Tanya doesn’t care. She asks Sean what he thinks Max is going to do? Dig himself out? Sean grabs the top of the box. Tanya asks, “what is that?” Sean asks her what? She asks him what that was? She shushes Sean to listen. He says he doesn’t hear anything. She stops him and says, just wait. They see a car pull up.
Ian and Jane walk to the door of the room. The coroner tells him a simple yes or no will do.
Tanya asks Sean where he’s going? Sean tells her he just wants to make sure they’ve gone. Tanya protests that he can’t leave her there. He tells her he will be back in a minute. Tanya turns to look at Max and then turns away. She looks up at the sky. She hears a thump. She turns around to find Max is moving his hand.
The coroner asks Ian if this is his daughter. He and Jane cry as he answers no.
Max opens his eyes and slurs, “where am I? What have you done to me?” She tells him it’s his worst nightmare. Remember? She tells him now he is going to know. Now he is going to understand a tiny little bit of how she feels — every lie, every cheating, worthless moment. You were going to use the kids against her. She tells him he will have hours to think about what he did to her. He begs her not to. He begs her to think of the kids. He begs her not to. She tells him, “bye, Max.” She puts the lid on as Max calls out Tanya!
